NATIONWIDE - April is recognized as Earth Month. The Latinx community is on the frontlines of the climate crisis, more acutely feeling the effects of climate change and pollution than any other demographic in the United States largely due to where they live and work. Latinxs disproportionately live in areas facing extreme weather conditions and temperatures, poor air and water quality, and overall inequitable access to healthy, sustainable environments. Poder Latinx has pushed for state and federal legislative efforts that take meaningful action to curb the effects of the climate emergency, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Justice40 Initiative.
