WASHINGTON, DC - Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin announced an agreement on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This proposal is poised to be sent to the Senate floor for a vote next week. The package contains a 15% corporate minimum tax, investments in domestic energy and manufacturing, carbon emissions reduction, and an expanded Affordable Care Act.

As brought into question during oral arguments, the Supreme Court affirmed that President Biden was under no obligation to keep the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy in effect when taking office. Now the case will be sent back to the lower courts in order to verify the legality of the most recent attempt to end the program.
