Local Community Leaders Discuss The Dangerous Consequences of “Cancelling of Air Conditioning Assistance” to Arizona Families

Phoenix, Arizona —  On Tuesday, April 29th, at the Arizona State Capitol, local community leaders and activists will hold a press conference to highlight the serious consequences of the Trump’s administration freezing funds on key programs that help provide assistance to marginalized communities to cover heating, but especially air conditioning costs due to more frequent and lengthy extreme heat. The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program or LIHEAP helps nearly 630,000 Arizona families with their utility bills, especially during the hottest months in Arizona. This event is sponsored by Poder Latinx and the Climate Action Campaign.
