Sandra Cisneros
Sandra Cisneros is a Mexican American writer. She was born in Chicago and grew up as the third child and only daughter in a family of seven children. She studied at Loyola University of Chicago receiving a B.A. in English and later graduated from University of Iowa with an M.F.A. She is best known for her first novel, The House on Mango Street, and her subsequent short story collection Woman Hollering Creek and Other Stories. Her work has inspired many people in the #Latinx community to embrace their identities.
Thalía Gochez
Thalía Gochez is a first-generation Mexican and Salvadorian film photographer, creative and fashion stylist based in Los Angeles. Thalía focuses on building a platform for people of color. Her work centers on #Latinx people to uplift their identities which often get less visibility. Through her work she provides space for silent narratives as a form of #socialjustice. María Elena Salinas
María Elena Salinas, is an American broadcast journalist, news anchor, and author. She is the daughter of Mexican immigrant parents and grew up in Los Angeles, California. She began her career in journalism in 1981 as a reporter for the Spanish-language television station KMEX-34 in Los Angeles. She was previously a co-anchor of Univision's nightly newscast, Noticiero Univision. María has been called the "Voice of Hispanic America" by The New York Times. María is one of the most recognized Hispanic female journalists in the United States.
Jamie Margolin
Jamie Margolin is a Jewish and Latinx, American #climatejustice activist. Jamie identifies as a lesbian and speaks openly about her experiences as an LGBTQ+ person. She served as the co-executive director of Zero Hour in 2017. Jamie has led a youth climate march on Washington DC in 2019. At 14, Jamie started organizing with other young people in her hometown of Seattle to educate protest, and campaign for #climate action.Her work has been published with CNN and Huffington Post.
