TOMORROW: Rally for Paid Leave in Washington, DC

WHAT: 'Paid Leave for the People' rally in DC

WHO: Poder Latinx and 26 co-sponsors

WHERE: The Ellipse: South of the White House fence and north of Constitution Avenue and the National Mall, Washington, DC

WHEN: *TOMORROW* Thursday, Oct. 14, 1 - 4 p.m. ET

The 'Paid Leave for the People' rally is scheduled to take place at the nation's capital tomorrow, October 14. At a critical moment in the budget negotiations, and with paid leave and childcare being threatened each day, it's time to unite American voices in the fight for paid leave.

Latinos have the highest labor force participation rate of any racial or ethnic group in the U.S., yet the approximately 15 million Latino workers in the U.S. are the least likely to have access to paid sick days. Paid leave allows people to not have to decide between their finances and the health of their family. The COVID-19 pandemic magnified the reasons why paid leave is essential for the health of all communities, and this rally is a chance to remind lawmakers that federal support for paid leave is a public health concern that must be addressed.
