GEORGIA ENVIRONMENTAL GROUPS LAUNCH 2021 GREEN CITIES GA ENVIRONMENTAL PLATFORM
WHAT: Communities of color and poorer communities live and work in areas that are more vulnerable to climate change as they lack the resources to adequately prepare for natural disasters, rising temperatures, and increased flooding. Local Georgia environmental organizations will unveil the 2021 Green Cities Georgia, a climate justice policy platform. Local elected leaders have the ability to transform communities by addressing the climate issues that impact everyday lives. This platform is intended to help voters and candidates learn more about the environmental issues and opportunities we face locally, and the immediate actions that leaders can take

Poder Latinx’s mission is to build a political wave where Latinx communities, immigrants, and people of color are decision-makers in this country’s democracy.
Georgia Conservation Voters' mission is to advocate for public policies that advance a more just and sustainable future, campaign for candidates who will make climate and environmental justice a priority, and hold elected officials accountable for their actions and votes.
With Environment Georgia, you protect the places that all of us love and promote core environmental values, such as clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and clean energy to power our lives. We focus on timely, targeted action that wins tangible improvements in the quality of our environment and our lives.
The Sierra Club Georgia Chapter is the largest grassroots environmental organization in the state of Georgia. We have a robust outings program and have active committees working on forest and coastal protection, transit expansion, and clean energy. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet.
Founded in 1998 by Reverend Joseph Lowery, The Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda is an umbrella organization of human rights, civil rights, labor, women’s, youth, and peace and justice groups which advocate for voting rights protection, elimination of barriers to the ballot box, criminal justice reform, quality education, affordable housing, economic development, an equitable environment, and equal participation in the political process for Georgians of color and underrepresented communities.
