Poder Latinx Honors César Chávez’s Legacy with National Day of Action, Launching Voter Registration Events Across Seven States
NATIONWIDE - On March 31, 2025, Poder Latinx will commemorate César Chávez’s enduring legacy with a National Day of Action, focused on voter registration, civic engagement, and community mobilization across seven states.
As we celebrate Cesar Chávez’s fight for justice, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering Latinx communities through political participation in immigrant rights, economic justice, and climate advocacy.
“Local elections play a pivotal role in shaping policies that impact Latino families —from education and public safety to housing and community services. Yet, voter turnout remains disproportionately low. This initiative seeks to bridge that gap by equipping Latinx voters with the knowledge and tools to engage in upcoming elections that will directly shape our communities,” said Yadira Sánchez, Executive Director of Poder Latinx.
This multi-state voter registration campaign will energize Latinx communities ahead of key elections in 2025 and the midterms next year, ensuring our voices are heard in races for school boards, city councils, utility boards, and state legislatures. As youth and communities across the country march in the streets expressing their discontent and demand for change, Poder Latinx seeks to channel this momentum to the ballot box, empowering Latinx voters to make a lasting impact. Join us as we honor César Chávez’s legacy and empower our community to shape the future through the power of their vote!
