PODER LATINX STATEMENT

NATIONWIDE - Poder Latinx is deeply troubled by the recent reports regarding César Chávez and the account shared by Dolores Huerta. We are deeply concerned and saddened to learn of the harm described and the impact it has on survivors of sexual violence. We stand in solidarity with Dolores Huerta and all those who have come forward to share their experiences.

As an organization, we unequivocally reject all forms of violence and the abuse of power, and reaffirm that this moment calls for accountability and justice for those impacted.  

This situation does not diminish the broader legacy of the farmworker movement. The lessons and outcomes extend beyond any one individual, and no single person should overshadow the collective struggles and achievements of generations.

Poder Latinx is committed to a future rooted in justice, dignity, and collective responsibility. We stand in solidarity with women and farmworkers whose labor and leadership sustain our communities and values. Our work continues to open opportunities and secure a better future for all of the communities we serve.
