Poder Latinx Joins National Voter Education Week Efforts to Educate and Mobilize Latinx Voters
NATIONWIDE - Poder Latinx is proud to announce its participation in this year’s National Voter Education Week (NVEW), a campaign during the first week of October to provide voters with the tools and resources they need in order to cast their ballot. Each day October 3rd-7th, during NVEW boasts a unique theme. On October 6, Poder Latinx will host a #BallotReady virtual panel to uplift resources that Spanish-speaking voters can use to learn more about what’s on their ballot, and encourage voters to use those resources and help their families navigate their ballots as well.
Poder Latinx has released the following statement on National Voter Education Week:
“Being a part of National Voter Education Week is a critical component of preparing voters, allowing them to feel empowered and informed enough to cast their ballot. The midterm elections are right around the corner, and we have the opportunity to inform and empower traditionally low-propensity voters to exercise their voices for those in our community who cannot. Through our integrated voter engagement strategy, Poder Latinx carries out a year-round, culturally competent voter education and protection programs tailored to the communities that we work in. It is critical for voters to not just be engaged, but be engaged in the language and approach that are the most accessible to them,” said Yadira Sanchez, Executive Director of Poder Latinx.
