Poder Latinx Launches Bilingual Awareness Campaign to Help Latinos Vote In Georgia Public Service Commission

Atlanta, GA - Today, Poder Latinx launched a bilingual digital campaign and field effort, to educate the Latino community in Georgia to turn out and vote in the PSC Election. The campaign comprises digital content and a field program to help inform the Latino community about how to vote in the upcoming public utilities commission election.

Yadira Sánchez, Executive Director at Poder Latinx released the following statement:

"Latinos in Georgia have been experiencing the sting of high costs of food, health care, gas and now electricity. Electricity bills have been raised 7 times in the last three years. That's $504 more a year out of your pocket. Here's the thing — we actually have the power to change this. Georgia elects the commissioners who make crucial decisions about our power bills.

This November, two of those seats are on the ballot. Two seats that could transform our energy future. That is why we are heading out to the field and going up on digital bilingual advertisements to make sure our community is educated and has what they need to vote for the upcoming Public Service Commission Elections.

When we create the right conditions for our communities, it gives us peace of mind, knowing that we will have a safer and healthier life. I encourage all Latinos to seize the opportunity to make their voices heard at the ballot box, elect a public service commission that is going to lower electricity costs and help our communities."
