Poder Latinx Celebrates Latinx Heritage Month

Latinx Heritage Month is an annual celebration observed from September 15th through October 15th. Poder Latinx will spend this time honoring the Latinx community and continue building its political power with a month of virtual and in-person activities to celebrate the heritage and contributions of Latinxs of diverse backgrounds and focus on the theme of Latinx unity. Events will include voter registration drives in local communities, webinars featuring artists from Poder Latinx’s Galería de Colores, several virtual events organized and hosted by Poder Latinx’s Poderosas fellows, and more.

    In the past, Florida once offered Drivers Licenses to all residents without proof of status in this country. Immigrants whose licenses have expired since the Patriot Act in 2001 made requirements harder to obtain a license.We want to have an advocacy organization from a state that does offer driver licenses for all to explain how it is possible to use their vote. Join us Monday September 26 to discuss why immigration justice is a call to bring back the driver license for all.
