Toolkit for La Borinqueña & Las Poderosas GA Release

INTRODUCTION
Latinas are a growing voting force within the Latinx electorate and an influential constituency in the county. In Georgia alone, Latinas makeup 53% of the Latinx’s vote, and in 2050, we predict Latinas will play a decisive role in local, state, and national elections. Poder Latinx launched a fellowship aimed at building a new generation of Latina civic leaders across key electoral states. Inspired by the Poderosas fellows, we are launching “Las Poderosas,” “superheroines” who are using the power of their vote to engage Latinas to vote.
Produced by Somos Arte, starring Aida Rodriguez, Maria Elena Salinas, Cristela Alonzo, and Maya Murillo with music by Las Cafeteras, QVLN, Sergio Mendoza, and Degrume. Together, we are encouraging Latinas in Georgia to activate their super power and take their family members who are registered to vote to make sure their voices are heard at the ballot box on Tuesday, January 5th. The Georgia senate runoff elections are critical for our communities and families.
