Poder Latinx Invites Community to Join Latinx Heritage Month Festivities

NATIONWIDE - Latinx Heritage Month is an annual celebration observed from September 15th through October 15th. Poder Latinx will spend this time honoring the Latinx community and continue building its political power with a month of virtual and in-person activities to celebrate the heritage and contributions of Latinxs of diverse backgrounds and focus on the theme of Latinx unity. Events will include voter registration drives in local communities, citizenship workshops, cafecitos, webinars, and more.

Poder Latinx has released the following statement on Latinx Heritage Month:

 “At Poder Latinx, we empower the Latinx community year-round by hosting citizenship drives, registering the community to vote, raising awareness of legislation that would directly impact Latinxs, and anything else we can do to be the best advocates possible for our communities. Latinx Heritage Month allows us to remember the things that bring us together- the Latinx community is resilient, we are diverse, and we are united. This month, we are celebrating our rich history and cultures and continuing to pass on our values and traditions to the next generation of Latinx voters. This month, we call on our community to invite our friends out to events, help them register to vote, and help them get excited to vote in local elections in 2023 and the critical presidential election in 2024. We have the power in numbers to make our voices heard, this month and every day,” said Yadira Sanchez, Executive Director of Poder Latinx.
