Poder Latinx Announces Ad-Influencer Campaign Asking Trump To Lower Energy Costs in North Carolina

Charlotte, NC – Poder Latinx is proud to launch a $100,000 bilingual ad and influencer campaign asking President Donald Trump and his Senate Republicans to stop cutting the Clean Energy Plan, which lowers energy prices and could bring jobs to North Carolina. 

Latino families are struggling with the aftermath of the twin disasters of the recent hurricane Helene and the President's economic policies which are hurting our communities. We cannot afford to pay for rising electricity bills that make it harder to provide for our families, and we know that the full implementation of the Clean Energy Plan will have an immediate positive impact on our communities.

“Latino families in North Carolina are facing the worst impacts of climate change today, from extreme and unsafe heat waves to pollution that fails national air quality standards. These climate impacts put the health of our families and the futures of our children at risk.  

Our households pay a higher share of our income on household bills than other families, despite being more conservative with our energy use.  We need solutions that not only fight climate change, but also save us money. We need affordable clean energy, and we need it first in the neighborhoods with the highest pollution and the highest bills. 

North Carolina should be using the resources we have right here at home to improve the health and economy of our communities.  We are asking President Trump to please help us lower costs, reduce pollution, clean up our air and lower our electricity bills -- by investing in clean, affordable energy and making it accessible to the most impacted communities.”
