Eligibility
We build, we grow, and we stay true to our mission when we share what we know with the communities we want to support. To participate, you must be:
Able to commit 10-15 hours to the fellowship weekly
Ready to take what you learn and pass it on to others. We build, we grow, and we stay true to our mission if we share what we know with the communities we want to support
Interested in learning the ins and outs of civic engagement
Seeking to make a difference in your local communities
Interested in organizing, program management, and electoral work
Have organizing or program management experience, preferred but not required
Able to build and maintain a coalition of Latinas in your local communities
Have strong ties to the community and/or Latinx networks
A Latina (Ages 18-35) aligned with our organization’s values and knows how to navigate the cultural diversity of our Latinx community.
Identify as a Latina and be proud of your culture’s struggles and success
How we support our Poderosas
To lead powerful change, our Poderosas need the right tools. That’s why every fellow in our current Cohort participates in a robust leadership and organizing training program that combines virtual sessions, hands-on practice, and in-person state summits.

Event Planning & Voter Engagement
Digital & Social Media Strategy
Legislative Advocacy & Running for Office
Resume Building & Professional Development
Immigration, Economic, and Climate Justice Organizing
Biweekly virtual trainings + monthly Madrina-led workshops
In-person summits in CA, AZ, TX, and GA
Note: All the Poderosa Fellows will receive a $5,000 stipend
What the Poderosas impact looks like - Our goals
Through a structured fellowship experience, Poderosa Fellows contribute to a national network of Latina leaders advancing civic engagement and political participation in their communities. With ongoing training, support, and mentorship, each fellow helps expand Latinx civic power and representation across the United States by achieving the following program goals:
Advancing Latinx Civic Engagement
Poderosas will actively engage their communities through direct organizing and outreach efforts, including:
Registering at least 420 new voters across all program states
Making over 55,000 phone calls to engage and mobilize Latinx voters
Sending 60,000 text messages as part of coordinated civic engagement campaigns
Canvassing 1,500 doors to increase local visibility and connection with voters
Recruiting between 5 to 10 local volunteers to support community-based work
Building a unique universe of 1,000 Latina voters as part of our long-term voter engagement strategy
Participation in Core Fellowship Activities
In addition to local organizing, Poderosas will:
Participate in a State Summit held in their region
Receive hands-on training in key organizing platforms such as VAN, EveryAction, and GetThru (ThruTalk/ThruText)
Serve as a spokesperson for Poder Latinx, promoting the organization’s mission and values through their community presence and public engagement
Maintain a tracking and evaluation system to document activities, measure outcomes, and reflect on learning and growth
Support and help exceed Poder Latinx’s national field, digital, and organizational goals through their leadership and local impact
