OUR ADVOCACY PROGRAMS
We must protect our environment, our climate, and Madre Tierra's natural resources. They cannot be taken advantage of for corporate gain or greed, especially at the risk of public safety and health to underrepresented communities. Everyone has the right to clean air, water, and access to public lands. Under this program, we inform the Latinx community about the effects that climate change has on their local communities and daily lives.
Congress must take immediate action to pass common-sense, fair immigration policies that end the crisis at our border, end the separation of families, and provide a pathway to citizenship. This country needs immigration policies that meet economic, business and employment needs, and is responsive to those facing political persecution or humanitarian crises. Anything else is immoral. Immigration laws should be encompass efficient, expeditious systems.
The Latinx community, especially Latinas, should be paid equitably, with access to healthcare, paid family leave, paid sick days, affordable childcare, and healthy work environments. All workers – undocumented, domestic and farmworkers, and migrant workers - contribute to the well being of our country and must have the right to organize and fight for a living minimum wage. We urge Congress to pass federal paid family and medical leave for all working people.
