Environmental Justice Community Organizer

Cristal is a dedicated advocate for environmental and social justice with deep roots in the Latinx community. Born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Cristal navigated her journey from a single-parent household to becoming a first-generation college graduate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Anthropology, along with a certification in Sustainability from Georgia State University. With a fervent passion for her Latina heritage and the environment, Cristal has embarked on a path marked by diverse and impactful experiences. Her adventures include earning a Scuba Diving certification, joining a sorority focused on empowering Latina women, and interning with the U.S. Forest Service. As an Environmental Justice Community Organizer at Poder Latinx, Cristal is committed to advancing environmental equity and sustainability. She strives to uplift and mobilize communities to advocate for environmental justice and create meaningful change.
