Alexa Gabriella Bocanegra, Poderosas Fellow

Alexa Gabriella Bocanegra is a political science graduate with experience in voter engagement, civic outreach, and community organizing through her work in elections and nonprofit advocacy in the Rio Grande Valley. She hopes to use the Poderosas Fellowship as an opportunity to strengthen civic engagement efforts, advance reproductive freedom advocacy, and empower communities through voter education and participation. 

Sarah Melanie Martinez, Poderosas Fellow

Sarah Melanie Martinez is a Rio Grande Valley organizer with experience in grassroots organizing, civic engagement, and nonprofit leadership focused on reproductive justice, mental health advocacy, and youth participation. She hopes to use the Poderosas Fellowship to continue building community-centered programs and strengthening Latina leadership through advocacy, civic engagement, and movement-building.

Alexandra Marie Martinez is a biology student with experience in grassroots organizing, civic engagement, and community outreach through canvassing and campus organizing work in Texas. She looks forward to expanding her work in advocacy, voter engagement, and leadership development to continue empowering her community through the Poderosas Fellowship.
