Sandra Naomi Cabrera is a political science student, community advocate, and small business owner with experience in grassroots engagement and immigrant community outreach in Arizona. She hopes to continue growing as an advocate while advancing immigrant rights and strengthening community-driven leadership through the Poderosas Fellowship.
Adriana Janneth Aguilar, poderosa fellow
Adriana is a first-generation Latina from a mixed-status family with roots in Culiacán, Sinaloa, and a third-year Justice Studies student at Arizona State University passionate about immigration advocacy, civic engagement, and advancing equity for immigrant communities. Through her work with advocacy organizations, entrepreneurial experience as a small business owner, and participation in the Poderosas Fellowship, she is committed to uplifting Latinx communities and pursuing her goal of becoming an immigration attorney in Arizona.

Helen Romero brings a background in technology, civic engagement, and community leadership, with experience developing digital projects and supporting initiatives that expand access to opportunities and resources. Gabi Mendez brings a background in social work, community engagement, and policy-focused advocacy, with experience supporting housing stability, youth development, and underserved communities. Estefany brings over nine years of experience in nonprofit immigration services, citizenship support, and community education, helping immigrant families navigate complex immigration processes and access critical resources. As a Poderosas Fellow representing Arizona, she is passionate about advancing immigrant rights and expanding pathways to opportunity, stability, and belonging for Latino and immigrant communities.
