  • Poder Latinx is a civic and social justice organization. Our vision is to build political power for the Latinx community to become decision-makers in our country’s democracy to win on our issues at all levels. Our mission is to work to build a sustained progressive voting bloc of Latinxs in battleground states across the country.

  • Powered by Poder Latinx, the Poderosas Legislative Summit brings together Latinas from across the country, including elected officials, administration officials, and other emerging and established civic and social justice Latina leaders to celebrate and build upon our collective service to the Latinx community. At our summit, we will discuss key issues such as the environment, immigration, and the economy, and how they are affecting the lives of the Latinx community across the country, examine the barriers we will face ahead of the 2024 elections, train youth and young Latinas to become agents of change, and commit to impactful actions and transformative change beyond the moment.

  • The Poderosas Legislative Summit 2023 will be hosted at the AT&T Forum in Washington, DC from October 6 - October 7, 2023.

  • The cost of this summit is absolutely free! We enormously appreciate that a growing network of supporters is allowing us to host this summit for free. And if you can, we encourage you to share with your friends. While this is a no-cost event for attendees, we do require that participants register using it by visiting our RSVP page.

  • Yes! Poder Latinx is proud to provide a scholarship opportunity available for young Latina/x/e, experiencing economic hardship who would like to attend this event, with priority given to Latinas from the states we operate in (Arizona, Florida, and Georgia). The Poderosas Legislative Summit Scholarship will cover registration, lodging, and transportation for scholarship recipients.

  • The Poderosas Legislative Summit 2023 is a curated space to bring together Latina/x/e.

  • The Summit brings together Latinas from across the country, including elected officials, administration officials, and other emerging and established civic and social justice Latina leaders to celebrate and build upon our collective service to the Latinx community. By facilitating this space, Latinas will be able to network with other Latinas who made their careers in the civic engagement space and gain new professional skills to take back to their communities.

  • Absolutely! You do not need to be an eligible voter to be a community leader.

  • Yes, if you are located in the United States you are more than welcome to join.

    • If you apply for our scholarship, please let us know what state you are traveling from.

    • If you are traveling at your own expense, please make accommodations at or near the following location: AT&T Forum, 601 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20001

  • We highly recommend staying at a hotel or an Airbnb within walking distance of The Hamilton Hotel; 1001 14th Street NW, Washington D.C 20005.

  • For the health and safety of everyone, Poder Latinx expects all attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to arriving at this event.

    Attendees will be provided COVID-19 rapid tests to use prior to the Poderosas Legislative Summit and throughout all scheduled activities in order to show proof of negative results. Out of an abundance of precaution, all attendants are asked to remain masked at all times when indoors, with the exception of meal breaks. We also request that masks be worn during any and all transportation to or around Washington, DC.

  • In the RSVP form, please specify if you are in need of language, learning, mobility access or/and visual accommodations.

  • This event is for anyone over the age of 18 who identifies as Latina/x/e.

    As alcohol will be served during the reception, we will be checking IDs to verify those over the age of 21.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to provide childcare for this event.

  • We encourage our attendees to dress business casual. Photographers will be present at the event to capture pictures, and we will provide opportunities on-site to take professional headshots.

    Avoid: Negative messages or offensive language, uncomfortable shoes, workout apparel, or ripped clothing articles. Clothing promoting alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed. Due to the presence of elected officials at this nonpartisan event, political endorsements or affiliations are strictly prohibited.

  • The Expert Corner is a space for organizational partners, event sponsors, and Poderosas Summit speakers and panelists to share information about their organization and showcase how participants can engage in their work. Informational and resource tables will include flyers, QR codes, sign-up sheets, one-pagers, and any other materials that help promote their organizations and causes. Participants will have multiple opportunities to visit the Expert Corner tables, including during check-in and registration, during scheduled breaks, and during the evening reception.

  • Absolutely! To be a volunteer for the Summit, we ask that you sign up with our volunteers form HERE

  • Yes! We will provide media passes to press wishing to cover this event. Pre-approval is required for members of the press to be allowed into the event space. To obtain a media pass for press coverage, please send an email to Nick Blanco at nblanco@poderlatinx.org.

  • While we are excited to be hosting our Summit in Washington DC, we understand not everyone may have the capabilities to attend. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have a virtual option for the Summit.
